Many of you will be traveling this weekend or early next week for the American Thanksgiving holiday week that is less than 1 week away. I thought I would use this Wealth Matters Weekend issue to discuss how true wealth only comes when gratitude is present front and center in your life and share my list of things I am grateful for from this past year along with the encouragement to spend some time writing out all of yours this weekend. Happy Pre-Thanksgiving Week!
I am grateful for…
Your (my reader/subscriber) attention and time-consuming these posts
The many professional influences and thought leaders who have helped shape my world-view, thinking, awareness, and macro-thesis that include Mickey McManus, Bonin Bough (for introducing me to Mickey), Rebecca Costa, Neil Howe and William Strauss, Gerd Leonhard, Yael Eisenstat, Caitlin Long, Jonathan Lopp, Andreas Antonopoulos, David Chaum, Stan Stalnaker, Brittany Kaiser, G. Edward Griffin, James G Rickards, Raoul Pal, Real Vision TV, Dan Ariely, Parag Khanna, Steve Farber, and Andrea Kates to name a few.
My wife for her talents, her moral compass, her unmatched toughness, her work ethic, her willingness and her shared cored values.
My parents for their unconditional love, their love of learning, their support of all the things that drive me and make me happy even though they may never fully understand them.
My sister for being an example of finding the light in life, by forging forward through the dark times, and for being willing to battle and work hard daily on what really matters.
The unethical idiots that have tried to break our legs or slow us down this year with their frivolous attacks in both the personal and professional arena, because you ultimately have reminded me and us to “focus” on what matters most, to have even thicker skin than before, and that the only one that could ever truly keep us from our ambition, dreams and desired outcomes are ourselves.
The shining sun and warm Fall weather of Arizona that beams down on me while I write this newsletter.
The son that teaches me more about myself and the man I am and want to continue to become each day, in ways that nothing else on this planet ever could.
The extended family that will move mountains to descend from all around the country on the State of North Carolina this next week to celebrate an annual tradition that includes over 40 people now.
Satoshi Nakamoto for providing us all (and future generations) a chance at monetary freedom
All the idealists and pragmatists, the doers, the entrepreneurs, the angel investors, the early adopters that have and will continue to lead the world and humanity in new directions despite the corruption and power-hungry status quo
My unquenchable thirst for knowledge, more context, and curiosity.
My energy levels, my physical health, and my innate drive to not waste a day or second of my potential.
My failures and my mistakes for the humility they force onto me and the clarity they provide me like a feedback loop for how I could perform better the next time out.
My successes for reminding me that the journey is far more enriching and rewarding than the actual material gains.
Being born when I was born and in a country that was free so that I could have the opportunity to participate and contribute in some small way in this global cycle of phase transition in my professional prime as the next world order is shaped.
Now it is your turn. Take some time and write yours down. Watch how much wealthier you feel afterward!
